The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that on Thursday a Stella girl sustained injuries in a one-vehicle accident around 8:25 a.m. on Beaver Road two miles west of Longview in McDonald County.

Richard A. Tanner, 41, of Stella, was driving the car and Ashlyn B. Tanner, 9, was a passenger. The car was southbound but ran off of the road, struck a tree, and then overturned. The girl sustained minor injuries and the driver was not injured.

There were two people injured in a motorcycle accident that took place 8:50 a.m. The accident happened on U.S. Highway 60, east of Neosho in Newton County.

A Newcastle, OK, woman, Gail A. Shackelford, 65, was a passenger on a motorcycle that was being driven by Jerry W. Shackelford, 67, was seriously injured when they got into a crash. According to police reports, a tire on the back of the motorcycle blew out, causing the motorcycle to overturn and go off the left side of the road.

And on Thursday a Neosho woman was in an accident at 9:20 a.m. two miles east of Stark City on Highway 86. Her vehicle was the only one involved in the accident. Barbara S. Emmons, 36, was taken to Freeman Hospital West after her vehicle ran off the road where she struck a culvert. The car overturned. She sustained minor injuries.

On Wednesday at Washington and Rouse streets in Pittsburg, Kansas, there was a two car accident at 6:02 p.m. One juvenile was injured in the accident. A car driven by Rebecca Helwig, 37, of Altamont, Kan. was stopped in traffic, waiting to make a turn. Another vehicle driven by Nathaniel Suthoff, 22, of Clinton, Missouri, drove up behind her vehicle and struck the car.

The juvenile was injured and was transported to Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. The other driver was not injured.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Timothy L. Lynn, 36, of Fulton was arrested on four charges after being involved in a one car accident over the weekend.

The charges that police arrested for included the felony charge of driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender, failing to register his vehicle with the Missouri Department of Revenue, driving for the second time with a revoked license, and failing to drive on the right side of the road.

The accident was reported at 7:42 p.m. on Friday in Miller County.

Lynn was headed north on Missouri 17 about .8 miles south of Finch Road, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier. He crossed over the center and then drove off of the left side of the road and into a ditch. He sustained minor injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
