In August there was a fatal motorcycle accident involving a Chicago woman. The family of the man who died are still questioning what happened and are looking for answers.

The woman who caused the accident turned herself in to police recently, but the man’s family still has some unanswered questions. The family says they are beginning to think they may never get answers to their questions about what happened to their loved one.

Police records indicate that 27-year-old Dallas Madlock was driving along Chicago’s U.S. 30 on his motorcycle but was cut off by a woman who made a sudden U-turn in an SUV. Madlock crashed his bike, sustained very serious injuries, and later died.

The woman driving the SUV who caused the accident was identified as Latasha Lee. Her suspicious actions following the crash have Madlock’s family questioning whether she was under the influence at the time of the crash. After the accident Lee did not call authorities to report the accident. Instead, she waited 18 hours to report being involved.

Madlock’s family believes that Lee was waiting to report the accident because she knew that she would not pass a sobriety test. An attorney for the victim’s family said in a statement to reporters “she waited approximately 18 hours after the collision to report the collision. Obviously, by the time she turned herself in, the police and the authorities were unable to perform any sort of tests.” Madlock’s mother, Amanda, has said “I need to have some type of answer as to why would you would take my baby.”

But Lee’s attorneys feel like their client did nothing wrong and have undertaken their own investigation to prove that she acted appropriately.

The only answers that have been unearthed so far are from a witness who said that after the motorcycle accident happened, Lee drove off and did not come back. But before she fled the scene of the crash, according to the witness Lee stopped her vehicle and looked at Madlock’s body. If this is true it would show that she was aware of the accident and had awareness of the seriousness of Madlock’s condition. Lee later turned herself in, but maintains that she was not using drugs or alcohol when the crash occurred.

Hopefully there will be more answers soon that will give more closure to this family.
