In Daytona Beach, Florida a man was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and driving under the influence after he crashed his vehicle into a line of cars waiting at a stoplight.

The 27 year old Edgewater man, Charles Aidan Arnold, was traveling north on the South Dixie Freeway on Thursday night. When he failed to stop at a traffic light, he slammed his minivan into the line of cars that had stopped at the light. The accident happened at the Canal Street intersection. Arnold crashed into Nora Palmer’s van. The impact of the crash then slammed Palmer’s vehicle into another vehicle, Heather Dembinsky’s sedan. Dembinsky’s vehicle was pushed into a sport utility vehicle driven by Estafania Curry.

Palmer and two of her passengers needed to be taken to Bert Fish Medical Center for injuries they sustained in the crash. Two other drivers were also injured and were taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Port Orange, according to police. Thankfully no injuries were incapacitating and it looks as though all of those who were involved in the crash should be alright.

The police report related that at the time of the accident Arnold was under the influence of a controlled substance. Police also found methamphetamine on Arnold in his pocket. He was charged with DUI with property damage. Arnold had also received several traffic violation citations prior to this incident. Police said that Arnold was taken to Branch Jail and held on $2,000 bail.
